De-amalgamation Business Case

Snowy Valleys Council appointed the University of Newcastle to prepare an independent business case capable of being submitted to the Minister for Local Government for de-amalgamation.

Report author and project lead, Professor Joseph Drew of the University of Newcastle engaged with representatives of key stakeholder groups, Councillors and Council in mid-February 2023 and then returned to the region to share his draft findings at community forums held on the 27 and 28 April 2023.

Professor Drew has provided his final report which can be viewed on Council’s website at www.svc.nsw.gov.au/deamalgamation-consideration.

Council will consider the report at its next ordinary meeting scheduled for 22 June 2023.
