Expressions of Interest – Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee

Council is seeking three independent members for the Audit Risk and Improvement Committee (ARIC).

The ARIC is a key component of council’s governance framework and the committee is responsible for assisting council in fulfilling its governance and oversight responsibilities.

The ARIC provides independent assurance, oversight, and assistance to council in the areas of risk, internal audit, control, governance, financial reporting, and performance.

Comprised of three independent external members, one of whom will be the Chair, the ARIC membership is a 4-year term, and members will meet at least four times per year either in person or online.

Interested parties should have a strong passion for transparency and the principles of good governance in the public sector, the ability to read and understand financial statements, the capacity to form independent judgments, and a willingness to challenge management practices.

Members are remunerated for their time and expertise with the Chair earning $1,200 ex GST per meeting and members earning $800 ex GST per meeting.
