Council is partnering with GetAboutAble to help businesses in the Snowy Valleys improve access and inclusion for people with disabilities.

Participants can build awareness of what disability, access, and inclusion are, unpack their access and inclusion experiences for customers, and introduce good practice examples.

Hosted over three days in May the training is delivered online during lunchtime hours and is divided into three modules:

  • Module 1 - Introduction to accessibility and inclusion - May 8th
  • Module 2:  How to provide good accessibility information – May 15th
  • Module 3:  Inclusive welcome and customer service – May 22nd

Businesses are encouraged to express their interest as webinar recordings will be provided for those unable to attend in person, catering to the needs of all participants.

The training is aimed at local businesses and their staff but anyone who wants to join is welcome.

GetAboutAble is a leading Australian access and inclusion consultancy, increasing opportunities for people with disability (PWD) to actively engage in their community in various roles, including as consumers and employees.

All GetAboutAble team members have significant lived experience of disability and represent a diverse range of access needs.

This initiative supports actions as part of Council's Disability Inclusion Action Plan.
