A successful Long Lunch event was held in Khancoban over the weekend, bringing together locals and visitors for an unforgettable afternoon of fine food, live music, and community spirit.

The event was hosted by the Khancoban United Volunteer Association (KUVA) and Snowy Valleys Council (SVC), with the proud support of the NSW Government.

Held at the local Community Hall, the Long Lunch welcomed 100 attendees who enjoyed a beautifully curated three-course meal by Harvest Kitchen. The menu featured delectable canapés, a shared main course, and a sumptuous dessert grazing table.

Distinguished guests included the Hon. Michael McCormack MP, Justin Clancy MP, Dean Lynch from Snowy Hydro, Davina Corti from Sculpture by the Sea and SVC Mayor Julia Ham.

A highlight of the event was the mid-lunch transition to the park across the road, where attendees gathered to launch two new Sculpture by the Sea artworks. This occasion officially welcomed Khancoban as part of the Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail, further cementing the region’s reputation as a cultural destination.

The event featured live music by Paige Lee Music, whose soulful sounds set the perfect tone for the afternoon. Corryong Country Blooms provided stunning floral arrangements and décor, transforming the hall into a breathtaking indoor paradise and the day’s special moments were expertly captured by Darcy Bly Photography.

Adding to the community spirit, the KUVA team managed the event bar, with all proceeds being shared between KUVA and the Khancoban Rural Fire Service (RFS).

A celebration of local talent, culture, and the unique charm of the Snowy Valleys region, the overwhelming success of the event highlights the strength of the community and its ability to create meaningful and memorable experiences.
