The Tumut Library is hosting the captivating Burning Generation Art Exhibition during the month of September and welcomes Dr Rachel Fox from Charles Sturt University who will give a talk on the exhibition’s development.

Under the guidance of Dr Fox, seven local teenagers participated in an art program that was designed to turn their trauma from the bushfires into artwork.

Dr Fox who is a senior lecturer at Charles Sturt University's School of Psychology will be at the Tumut Library on Wednesday 27 September to give a community talk about the six-month workshop program where the art was created.

The thought-provoking art exhibition reflects the response of young people who experienced the Black Summer bushfires.

Local artists presenting their works are Tilly Connolly, Cat Jackson, Jonny Minogue, Corinne Jackson, Lillie Linden, Ellisha Olsen and Lilly Barrett.

The Burning Generation exhibition was officially opened on Friday 4 August at the Tumut Region Visitor Centre and has now moved to the Tumut Library where the artworks are currently on display in the library’s foyer.

Don't miss this unique opportunity to witness the resilience and creativity of our local youth and hear about the program where they channelled their experiences into art.

Visit the Tumut Library throughout September to immerse yourself in the "Burning Generation Art Exhibition" and gain insight into the transformative journey of our region’s young artists.
