Rosewood’s Memorial Park has a fresh new feature with a play train and carriage added to the existing playground equipment.

The new climbing train is just one part of the beautification and improvement works happening at the park as part of the town’s Beautification and Play Area major project.

“A new hardwood shelter has also been erected as well as a surrounding hardwood timber fence,” said Heinz Kausche, Snowy Valleys Council’s Acting Director of Assets and Infrastructure.

“The space is being updated to create a more welcoming gathering spot with a picnic table and seating, shelter and easy access. The emphasis is on making Rosewood’s Memorial Park an engaging and playful space for local families and visitors,” Mr Kausche said.

The new play train with carriage is a reference the Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail and soft-fall material has been placed under and around all the play equipment in accordance with Australian Standards.

A shade sail for the playground will also be installed in the coming weeks.

SVC secured funding of $110,000 for the Rosewood Beautification and Play Area project from the NSW Government’s Major Projects Infrastructure Fund.
