Community members and media are invited to join Snowy Valleys Council and Cycle Tumbarumba for an official ceremony in Tumbarumba’s Goldfields Heritage Park.

The ceremony on Wednesday 27 March 2024, will officially mark the successful completion of the $650,000 park upgrade as part of the NSW Government’s Public Spaces Legacy Program.

Minister for Planning and Public Spaces Paul Scully said the creation of new public open spaces allows everyone to enjoy and appreciate the place where they live.

“The Goldfields Park will provide a great new recreation space for the community with a new cycleway and skate park all within the historic and beautiful surroundings of Tumbarumba,” Minister Scully said.

The project included the introduction of new nature-inspired play areas, new accessible facilities built above the flood line, terrace seating, new play equipment and enhanced landscaping.

These upgrades along with the new cycling playground further enhance the park's appeal ensuring a lasting positive impact on the historical park for future generations.

There will be a plaque unveiling and cake cutting to mark the occasion.

Cycle Tumbarumba, who secured a NSW Government grant and oversaw the building of the Cycling Playground, will also be hosting a free BBQ on the day for everyone to enjoy.
