Community groups and local non-profit organisations are invited to apply for grant funding under the annual Snowy Valleys Council Community Grants program.

The 2023 program makes funds available to support a wide range of activities that promote and enhance community wellbeing.

Community grants offer financial support for all sorts of community groups to get new ideas off the ground or secure a resource they need.

Two programs are currently open for applications:

  • Community Strengthening Grants – up to $10,000
  • Capital Sports and Recreation Grants – up to $10,000

Over recent years, the scheme has supported organisations to design and deliver popular events, create services and programs to better connect communities.

Successful community strengthening projects funded in 2022 included new High Jump Mats for Tumbarumba Little Athletics, See Me Hear Me Theatre’s production of Planet Man and an outdoor cubby hut for the Tumut Schools as Community Centres.

The Adelong Golf Club received funds through the Capital Sports and Recreation Grants for clubhouse upgrades as did the Tumut Netball Association to cover costs of LED light replacements.

Applications for the 2023 round will be accepted until Monday 31 July 2023.
