Tumut District Community Transport on the Move
Published on 10 July 2025
From Monday 14 July 2025, Tumut District Community Transport (TDCT) will operate from a new location at the Riverina Highlands Building (Council Offices) on Capper St, Tumut.
The move follows the coming transformation of the Community Support Centre into the future home of the Snowy Valleys Country University Centre.
Snowy Valleys Council’s Acting Director of Community, Corporate and Development, Nick Wilton, said the relocation will not only allow the university project to progress, but also offer significant benefits for the delivery of community transport services.
“Relocating the TDCT team to the Council Offices on Capper Street means we can provide additional support through centralised customer experience resources, helping to make it easier for residents to connect with the service,” Mr Wilton said.
“It also allows us to bring the team closer to other community-focused services and create new efficiencies in how support is delivered.”
The TDCT has served the community for over 30 years, and the service supports residents in Tumut, Adelong, Brungle and Talbingo, providing accessible transport for medical appointments, shopping and recreational activities.
The program supports those who are transport disadvantaged, including people with disabilities and their carers, veterans, the frail aged, and clients of the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP).
