Tumut RRC reopening

Council temporarily closed the Tumut Resource Recovery Centre (RRC) yesterday as a precaution due to odour concerns from the neighbouring Gilmore waste facility.

An on-site meeting was held today, Friday 27 June 2025, with the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA), which has confirmed the Tumut RCC is safe for staff and the community.

As a result, the facility will reopen and resume normal operating hours from Saturday 28 June.

Community members who experience any odour issues are encouraged to contact the EPA directly on 131 555 or email [email protected].

The situation will continue to be monitored.
