Tumut RRC reopening
Council temporarily closed the Tumut Resource Recovery Centre (RRC) yesterday as a precaution due to odour concerns from the neighbouring Gilmore waste facility.
 
An on-site meeting was held today, Friday 27 June 2025, with the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA).
 
As a result, the facility will reopen and resume normal operating hours (9:00am-3:00pm) from Saturday 28 June.
 
Community members who experience any odour issues are encouraged to contact the EPA directly on 131 555 or email [email protected].
The situation will continue to be monitored.
