Council has secured funding from NSW Severe Weather and Flood Grant funding received from the NSW Office of Local Government, to develop a masterplan for upgrades to Adelong’s main street, with a primary focus on improving drainage during rain events (excluding major creek flooding) and improve overall safety and usability.

The masterplan will combine landscape architecture and engineering designs and once complete will enable Council to make future applications for grant funding to undertake construction works.

A positive start to the project was made recently when Cr James Hayes and local representatives met with Council’s Project Manager on site in Adelong to discuss the master planning process.

Council is also working with Transport for NSW, the road asset owner, to refine the design brief, which is set to be released to the market later this year.

The Master planning project is set for completion by the end of June 2025 under the current funding arrangements.
