The Brindabella Road upgrade project will begin with the 10.6 km priority section between the Piccadilly Circus intersection at the NSW/ACT border and Brindabella Valley Road to the west. This section is the final part of the road within our local government area.

A further 17.4 km stretch (marked in blue below), from west of the Goodradigbee River to the Ridge Road intersection, will be surveyed to support future planning. The survey may also identify fill opportunities and potential upgrades. Any improvements to this section will depend on available funding.

The Australian Government committed $17.4 million in funding the Brindabella Road Upgrade project in the October 2022-23 Budget, under the Infrastructure Investment Program. In January 2023, the Australian Government committed an additional $20 million towards the project, taking its total commitment to $37.4 million.
