Chambers of Commerce

In the Snowy Valleys there are two Chambers of Commerce that support local businesses

Business Snowy Valleys

Business Snowy Valleys is all about creating a business environment which encourages economic growth, investment and employment in Adelong, Batlow, Talbingo, Tumut and surrounding areas. They provide support and assistance to their member businesses through association with Business NSW. 

 

Tumbarumba Chamber of Commerce

The Tumbarumba Chamber Of Commerce is about supporting and developing business and economic growth.

 

Service NSW Business Connect

The Service NSW Business Bureau provides personalised support for businesses, in one convenient place.  

Business owners can save time, make confident decisions and access the right support from across the NSW Government – all from a single point of contact.  

Business Bureau teams are based in communities across NSW, providing in-person support with a deep understanding of the unique challenges local businesses face.  

The Business Bureau offers tailored, one-on-one support to help businesses access government programs and services, comply with regulations, and explore opportunities to grow, including exporting and selling to government.  

Business owners can also build their skills with videos and other online resources on topics such as business planning, marketing and cash flow – a simple way to learn, improve and make day-to-day decisions with more confidence.

Enterprise Plus Business Connect

Funded by the NSW, designed for small business owners offering business advice, coaching and skills training. The business connect program gives free business advice from accredited and experienced business advisors.

Under the program various services and tools include:

  • Business advice (confidential and independent)
  • Coaching or mentoring
  • Skills training
  • Business news and trends
  • Access live and virtual business events

Rural Financial Counselling Service

Rural Financial Counselling Service's (RFCS) internally funded regional small business support program offers free, personalised, independent, and confidential face to face support to small business owners in financial difficulty within regional NSW.  A Small Business Financial Counsellor (SBFC) helps business owners navigate tough times by providing guidance and support on their financial position and the viability of their business, as well as helping them to identify their goals and to develop and implement a business plan.

This includes:

  • Identify underlying issues
  • Managing relationship with creditors and lenders
  • Developing cash flows and budgets
  • Accessing government assistance
  • Business and risk management plans
