Annual Event Sponsorship Program Launched

Council is introducing a new look annual Event Sponsorship Program that aims to empower local event creators and allow them to gain Council support in a more accessible and equitable practice that includes a transparent decision-making process.

The first program round opens on Monday 15 May, with event organisers of both well-established and new events able to apply for financial sponsorship for local programs and events set to be held between 1 September 2023 and 30 June 2024.

To be eligible events must be delivered during the specified period, inside the Snowy Valleys Local Government Area, and seek to primarily benefit residents, service organisations and/or groups within the Snowy Valleys.

The application process involves filling out the Event Sponsorship Application Form, specifying a dollar amount being requested from Council, and providing relevant supporting quotes and documentation.

The SVC Event and Sponsorship team will review eligible applications and a report with recommendations will be submitted to the Council for final discussion, evaluation, and approval.

Applicants will be notified of the results by the end of August 2023.

Council has a long history of supporting local events and has previously provided financial support to help cover costs of items including delivery and collection of garbage bins, road closures, traffic management and ground hire fees.

This updated annual sponsorship program ensures Council now has a fair, transparent, and equitable application process for everyone.
