Free Skate Workshops in Tumut
Published on 12 April 2021
Keen young skaters can finish the School Holidays with a FREE Skate Workshop at the newly upgraded Tumut Skatepark on Friday 16 April.
Snowy Valleys Council has partnered with Totem Skateboarding to present a number of workshops for ages six years and up. From newcomers to those who want to take it to the next level, there’ll be something for everyone.
By combining both the physical and creative elements of skateboarding, Totem gives students the opportunity to try out and practice a wide and unique variety of experiences to build self-esteem in a fun, safe, and supported environment.
The workshops will take place at the Fitzroy St Skate Park on Friday 16 April from 11.30am to 3pm, with beginners, intermediate and open mentoring sessions available.
Professional grade safety gear, helmets, and skateboards will be provided for those attending the workshops and participants are also free to bring along their own board or helmet and the coaches will do a quick safety check.

Council received $137,230 in grant funding from the second round of the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Community Fund to redevelop the existing Tumut Skate Park and expand the recreational space.
The skatepark redevelopment is an exciting addition for youth and visitors to the area and is designed to cater for a younger, less skilled age group complementing the existing skate bowl which was developed for a more experienced user.
The new skate park located between the basketball court and the existing skate bowl will provide a dedicated area for all skill levels.
