Snowy Valleys Council has reported 92% of actions outlined in its 2022/23 Operational Plan as completed or on track to be delivered by the end of the financial year.
Councillors endorsed the operation’s Six-Monthly Progress Report at their ordinary council meeting last Thursday.
The progress report identifies achievements and challenges recorded during the reporting period against the 2022/23 Operational Plan and Delivery Program and provides updates on Council services, projects, and key operational activities.
An update on the annual operating budget is also included in the progress report and a traffic light system illustrates how projects and actions are progressing, with 92% of actions showing as on-track or completed, and 37 of the 52 original Capital Works projects either complete or underway.
Achievement highlights of the past six months to 31 December 2022 include:
- Ten not-for-profit local events were sponsored to the value of $33,097
- A new council e-newsletter was launched as another channel to help the community stay updated on council works, projects and consultation opportunities.
- The New Ournie Hall was officially opened, replacing the old school building which was destroyed in the 2019/20 fires.
- A new pedestrian bridge was installed at Batlow’s Reedy Creek Park.
